new mt support breaks PAPI

Extended Description

I tried running PAPI tests today, and got this result for everything:
sac2c -v0 iotan.sac
sac2c -V
sac2c v1.00-beta (Haggis And Apple)
 product rev 17138 linux-gnu_x86_64
 (Sun Oct 24 10:54:34 EDT 2010 by sac)

The papiex.c code looks like this:
  if ((retval = PAPI_list_threads(NULL,&all_threads->num)) != PAPI_OK)
    papi_error("PAPI_list_threads",retval);
