Extended Description

1. Loop fusion on the attached program takes about a minute or so on a 1.6GHZ
AMD box. This came about after a last round of changes from bug20051031.sac.
2. It looks like some of the "print" statements are going wonky - printing
dim and shape, but no array data. HOWEVER, I've had my hands/feet in the
SimplePrint code, so that's likely my fault.
3. What does the run-time error message: "Inconsistent dimension for
array..." mean? Perhaps indicative of negative number in a shape vector?
At any rate, that's the last thing it says to us before heading to the
great bit bucket in the sky.
