Extended Description

This is an attempt to simplify (?) bug #71. I took a code similar
to the indexref.sac of bug #71, and tried to simplify it by removing
as much of the evil NTC*.mac as possible. [I was getting complaints 
about genarray problems in the bowels of NTCTemplates.xxx, and
thought this would help to isolate the fault.]
Obviously, I've gotten a different kettle of fish/worms...
