## Extended Description
<pre>If sac2c runs out memory, as it does when I try to compile shallow.sac
on a machine w/ 1.5GB main memory (while a few other things are happening),
I get this:
ABORT: System failure while trying to execute shell command.
ABORT: (e.g. out of memory).
*** Compilation failed ***
*** Exit code 6 (Running type inference system)
*** 15845 Error(s), 0 Warning(s)
over and over and over again!
As much as I appreciate sac2c's diligence in attempting to retry after
such a fault, things get worse, because the loop never terminates.
So, EVENTUALLY, the session log fills up the hard drive. Then things
get really bad!
I'd suggest giving up after about a 100 repeated
failures of this sort. Or maybe just 3.</pre>BugZillaBugZillahttps://gitlab.sac-home.org/sac-group/sac2c/-/issues/1407sac2c 14852 code generator dies on illegal size in code gen icm2c2017-11-19T20:47:35ZRobert Berneckysac2c 14852 code generator dies on illegal size in code gen icm2c

## Extended Description
The atttached kills sac2c, perhaps due to floating point constant
folding or similar nonsense in Lehmer(qrl).
This should work in the integer domain, but it ends up in truncation hell,
so I tried doing to double precision, which leads to this crash.
I'd prefer a nice, integer solution.BugZillaBugZillahttps://gitlab.sac-home.org/sac-group/sac2c/-/issues/1401ast.xml "this" problem2017-11-19T20:46:58ZRobert Berneckyast.xml "this" problem

## Extended Description
The attached EVENTUALLY dies w/ above error.
However, while getting there, it sits for MANY minutes in the optimizer,
just thinking. Or doing something else quietly...
Please look into that, too, while chasing the crash, maybe?BugZillaBugZillahttps://gitlab.sac-home.org/sac-group/sac2c/-/issues/1396Isn't that special? ize?2017-11-19T20:46:23ZRobert BerneckyIsn't that special? ize?

## Extended Description
<pre>The attached unit test now takes LONG time to compile with -O3. I gave
up after 10 minutes - and it uses over 400M while doing so.
This is w/sac2c rev 14797. I believe the same thing ran fairly
quickly yesterday.</pre>BugZillaBugZilla
